Why Savannah Chrisley Got a Federal Warning Over Her Weight Loss Website ...Middle East

News by : (Us magazine) -

Savannah Chrisley’s prescription weight loss website was flagged by the FDA over potentially misleading claims about GLP-1s.

Savannah, 28, got a warning letter last month due to the wording she used while promoting semaglutide and tirzepatide products on her site, GoodGirlRX, particularly phrases including “FDA-approved meds,” “FDA-approved options” and “clinically proven GLP-1 results.”

The reality star was reprimanded for implying that her products had been “evaluated for safety and effectiveness when they have not,” according to TMZ. The outlet was first to report the news on Tuesday, March 3.

Savannah was given 15 business days to update her site or be subject to legal action.

It appears she has already made some changes as the site now states “clinically studied results” rather than “clinically proven.” Furthermore, disclaimers are now featured, which note that the GLP-1 drugs are not FDA-approved.

Savannah told TMZ, “This was about website wording, not patient safety.”

“There were no fines and no disciplinary action,” she added. “We’re proud to help women access licensed physicians and we welcome the FDA’s guidance.”

Her founder’s letter online explains that she came up with the Good Girl Rx brand through her journey with “endometriosis, hormonal imbalance, pre-diabetic markers, stress, burnout and a body that was asking for help.”

Savannah recently spoke out about her own weight loss journey while serving as cohost on the February 18 episode of The View, revealing she shed 40 pounds so far. (She guest-hosted the show from February 16 to February 20 during Alyssa Farah Griffin’s maternity leave.)

Savannah previously shared that she had taken weight-loss “shots” during the November 4 episode of her “Unlocked” podcast, revealing that it did impact her appetite.

“I want to start back [on] my shot,” she admitted. “I love tirzepatide. It doesn’t give me all the side effects that some of these other ones give people. So then I can compare my bloodwork before taking it and after taking it and see where my biological age is, how my A1C is, all those things.”

“People can say what they want. I just believe as long as you feel good in your body, that’s all that matters,” Savannah said.

As for her overall goal, the Chrisley Knows Best star said she didn’t want to get too skinny “because I don’t wanna lose my ass,” she quipped, adding, “But I want to be pretty thin because now when I put on some of my jeans, I don’t like it when I put on a pair of jeans that don’t fit.”
