Tens of thousands of shoppers in Chicago and several other cities across the U.S. reported issues with Amazon’s website Thursday afternoon, according to outage tracking website DownDetector.
Users began reporting issues with Amazon’s website on DownDetector just before 1 p.m. on Thursday, with more than 20,000 reports of issues made by 2:20 p.m.
Some shoppers left comments on DownDetector with complaints of wide-ranging issues with Amazon’s website, from not being able to see prices on the website, order history not showing up, filters on searches not working and error messages showing up for a variety of reasons.
A heatmap of the reports on DownDetector shows shoppers in Chicago and several other major cities experienced issues, including in Seattle, Los Angeles, Houston, New York City and Atlanta.
An Amazon spokesperson apologized to shoppers for the inconvenience in a statement sent to NBC Chicago.
“We’re sorry that some customers may be experiencing issues while shopping. We appreciate customers’ patience as we work to resolve the issue,” the spokesperson said.
The spokesperson also said Amazon Web Services is functioning normally.
