The sheriff’s office says the scam involves someone calling you and asking for personal identifying information about your children, claiming it’s needed for ‘amber alert purposes.’
This is a scam! Law enforcement will never randomly call you and ask for that information, the sheriff’s office says. Authorities would only ask for such information for a legitimate incident that requires it.
