PFF: ASU’s Jordyn Tyson falls to late first-round in post-combine mock draft ...Middle East

Sport by : (Arizona sports) -

Coming out of the NFL Draft Combine, Pro Football Focus’ Trevor Sikkema has Arizona State wide receiver Jordyn Tyson being selected No. 24 overall to the Cleveland Browns in a first-round mock draft.

This would be a potential home-run pairing for the Browns — Monroe Freeling in the top 10 and Tyson here at No. 24. Freeling needs some development and Tyson needs to stay healthy… but the two could be defining players of Cleveland’s offense moving forward.

Although widely projected as one of the top wide receivers headed into the 2026 NFL Draft, Tyson’s injury history has been enough of a concern for PFF’s Max Chadwick to label him a “Boom or Bust” prospect. The publication also bumped the wideout down from No. 14 to the No. 20 spot on its list of the 25 best draft prospects.

Out of the nine mock drafts PFF has done since the end of the 2025 NFL regular season, only two have Tyson not being selected in the top 10. PFF’s Dalton Wasserman predicted the wideout to go to the New Orleans Saints at No. 8 overall back on Feb. 23.

Despite accepting an invitation to the combine and nearly breaking the wide receiver bench press record on Sunday while recovering from a hamstring injury, Sikkema sees Tyson’s decision not to participate in the athletic testing portion of the event resulting in him sliding down the draft order.

The team that eventually snags Tyson, the Browns, is projected to pick Georgia offensive tackle Monroe Freeling at No. 10 overall before circling back to him 14 picks later, making him the third of five wide receivers taken on Day 1.

This also makes Sikkema the third PFF writer to link the two-time First-Team All-Big 12 receiver with the Browns since Jan. 5.

What do the Cardinals decide?

Sikkema precedes his bold prediction of Tyson falling out of the top 20 with handing the Arizona Cardinals the safest option at No. 3 overall in Miami offensive tackle Francis Mauigoa.

Mauigoa measured in at 6-foot-5 1/2 and 329 pounds on Sunday but did not participate in combine workouts in favor of giving scouts a better look on Miami’s pro day on March 23. PFF lists him as the No. 8 overall prospect on the publication’s most recent big board, putting him 14 spots above the second-highest-ranked offensive tackle prospect, Utah’s Spencer Fano.

Even with concerns about Mauigoa’s 10 5/8-inch hands and 33 1/4-inch arms, Sikkema believes the tackle is the right fit to help address one of the Cardinals’ biggest needs.

Mauigoa measures in at the combine with 18th-percentile arms and a 26th-percentile wingspan when compared to NFL offensive tackles. That’s not ideal, but it also wasn’t a surprise.

The Cardinals need offensive line help more than anything else. If you think Mauigoa is a starting-caliber player and a two-contract guy (which I do), he’s worthy of this spot. He’s very solid in run blocking and pass protection, having earned 75.0-plus PFF grades in both this past season.

The consensus All-American has been mocked to the Cardinals 47 times, making him the team’s most common draft prediction by a wide margin.
