The Phoenix Suns are expected to sign forward CJ Huntley to a two-way contract, according to Arizona Sports’ John Gambadoro.

The news comes after Phoenix reportedly converted guard Jamaree Bouyea’s two-way deal to a standard contract.

Huntley returns to the two-way slot after being waived by Phoenix in November upon Bouyea’s arrival. Huntley then went on to play for the G League Valley Suns.

The 6-foot-11 rookie forward out of Appalachian State is averaging 14.8 points on 62.1% shooting to go along with eight rebounds, an assist and 1.2 blocks across 25 regular season G League games (21 starts) this season. He did not appear in an NBA game when he was on a two-way contract for the first month of the season.

Isaiah Livers (32 NBA games) and rookie Koby Brea (five) hold the other two-way slots. Under two-way deals, players can be active for up to 50 games. There are 22 regular-season games remaining in the NBA.

The Suns (34-26) are back in action Tuesday night against the Sacramento Kings (14-48). The game tips off at 9 p.m. and can be heard on the Arizona Sports app, 98.7 and ArizonaSports.com.
