ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Sunshine and cold weather Monday with temps near 30 degrees this afternoon. Clear skies tonight will give way to increasing clouds tomorrow morning. Hopefully we get some nice conditions to check out the total lunar eclipse early tomorrow morning. The eclipse begins just before 5AM and peaks around 630AM Tuesday, just before sunrise. Watch for latest on sky conditions for that event. Clouds will wind out into Tuesday afternoon with some light precipitation moving into the region. Mainly raindrops are expected in Rochester, but a little wintry mix is possible south of the Thruway. At this time the amounts look light, so we are not anticipating any issues. The Threat Tracker will be green.
Sunshine returns on Wednesday with temps jumping into the 40s. After that we are looking at some warmer weather with our first taste of true spring-like weather this weekend into early next week. As the temps warm some rain will likely impact our region from time to time. Thursday will bring a good chance for showers with more scattered raindrops on Friday. A cold front will approach later in the day Saturday with some rain, but temps may soar into the 60s before the front arrives. Don’t forget we spring ahead this weekend. Change the clocks Saturday night into Sunday.
Some sunshine develops on Sunday and then more warm weather the beginning of next week in the 50s and perhaps a day or two into the 60s. Sunrise Sunday will be 7:34AM and sunset will be 7:08 PM.
