As we inched closer to the final episode of Industry season 4, many fans were starting to get slightly worried that the future fate of the show hadn't yet been announced.
We know, it's sad that the financial drama is drawing to a close with season 5, but we can already anticipate that it'll mean the series will go out with one surefire bang.
With things having wrapped up on a very wild note for season 4, just when can we expect season 5 to land on our screens? And more importantly, in what newfound direction will we be going in? Read on for everything we know so far.
Will there be an Industry season 5?
In their joint statement on the renewal announcement, Industry co-creators Mickey Down and Konrad Kay said: "We’re privileged to have joined the small, esteemed club of dramas that have run for five seasons on HBO. This March marks a decade since we first began to conceive of the world of Industry and it exists because of the unwavering faith and vision of our partners and former partners at HBO — Casey, Frannie, Kara, Cela, Sam, Kathleen, and Max.
They added: "Finally: we owe everything to our crew and the best cast on TV for making our writing live. The characters will live on because of their world-class performances. Seeing the HBO ident in front of our work will never stop being a thrill. It remains the best place to make television, and we look forward to continuing our collaboration well into the future."
With the continued success and hype around the series, though and the fact that Down and Kay have hinted at knowing how they'll be wrapping up the show, we can always cross our fingers that the fifth and final season will be landing sooner. Watch this space!
Who could return for Industry season 5?
In the season 4 finale, we saw Harper on a career high and looking into office space for her company, which could potentially signal the dawn of a brand new batch of characters that will be working for her.
As for characters we won't be seeing anymore of, we can assume that Rishi (Sagar Radia) won't be making any more appearances. Although he is a cat with nine lives, we can't imagine Industry will be taking us into prison to pay him a visit – but wilder things have happened.
We may also be bidding farewell to Sir Henry Muck (Kit Harington) after he was seen on house arrest at his palatial estate, but we may possibly see his uncle, Alexander, Viscount Norton (Andrew Havill), seeing as Yasmin seemed to grow quite close to him in season 4.
Seeing as the new path she's embarked on will see her meet plenty of undesirable, powerful characters, we can probably look forward to plenty of new faces joining the Industry cast, we're sure.

Season 4 already took us on an unexpected turn away from the world of finance, and it was welcomed by many fans, but could season 5 see a return to classic form and get us back on the trading floor?
Will it mean that we see Harper and her team continue to try to hunt down fraudulent companies? Something tells us Harper's not all that concerned with turning into a whistleblower, but with her name increasingly more out there due to her Tender success, how will it all manifest? Hopefully, she doesn't take the power-hungry route of her mentor Eric, but we'll just have to wait and see.
As for Yasmin, will we see her return to a world of communications for a different company or continue to try to host 'networking events' for high-net-worth individuals? We can expect the latter, but if so, Industry could be set to go to some seriously dark places. Nevertheless, we're pumped.
