A man was stabbed after an argument on a Chicago Transit Authority bus on Saturday afternoon, authorities said.

Around 6:40 p.m., two men got into a verbal altercation on a CTA bus that was traveling on the 600 block of North Ashland Avenue in Chicago’s West Town neighborhood, authorities said.

During the fight, one of the men pulled out a sharp object and stabbed the other man in the arm and side, police said.

The man who was stabbed was taken to a local hospital by authorities. His condition was not immediately known, police said.

Authorities did not elaborate on what led to the fight.

CTA did not immediately respond to NBC Chicago’s inquiry.

An investigation into the incident remains ongoing.
