He also took 1.82 seconds off the pool record that David Schmitt of Harvard had set in prelims.
Schott was out in 22.08 at the 50, already getting a .42 second lead on Schmitt. With a second 50 of 24.82, he increased his lead to 1.35 second. Schott came home in 25.36/26.79 to notch a personal best 1:39.05 and auto-qualify for 2026 NCAA Division I Championships.
