ROCHESTER, N.Y. – We melted some of the ice on driveways and sidewalks thanks to temperatures in the mid and upper 30s. But chillier air will briefly make a return on Thursday. We’ll hold in the 20s through the day, and see some passing lake snow showers. These snow showers should be brief, so expect less than 1″ of additional accumulation Wednesday night into Thursday. If you’re not seeing snow showers, you’ll likely see at least a little bit of blue sky and sun on Thursday.
Milder air then returns on Friday with a warm front. We’ll start off in the teens, but we’ll climb quickly into the lower 40s by the afternoon with a mix of clouds and sunshine. We may see an uptick in clouds as the warm front passes through, but at this point, much of the day looks good.
A cold front will swing through on Saturday, dropping our temperatures once again. We’ll likely start the day on the milder side in the 40s, but then begin to fall back during the afternoon and evening. Some light snow develops Saturday night into Sunday morning, but once again accumulations look minor. The chill will be noticeable, though, with highs in the 20s both Sunday and Monday.
Beyond that, there are growing signs of a nice warm-up and perhaps full on Spring fever by the 2nd week of March. It is still a ways away, but close enough where we’re starting to see those signs of a pattern shift.
