McDonald’s calls it its biggest and “most McDonald’s” burger ever.
Social media users call it a “Big Mac on steroids.”
Its official name is the Big Arch.
The burger made its debut internationally in 2024 and became a big hit in the United Kingdom. Now it’s come home.
It officially goes on sale Tuesday, March 3, but some West Coast franchises are selling it early.
I was able to get it on Wednesday. I ordered it on the McDonald’s app, which listed it as unavailable but sold it to me anyway for $9.39 plus tax.
The Big Arch is indeed a beefy, cheesy, saucy burger. Its ingredients are a little different from a Big Mac or a Quarter Pounder, but it’s recognizable as a McDonald’s product.
It has two quarter-pound beef patties, three slices of white cheddar, both sliced and crispy onions, lettuce, pickles and a new Big Arch Sauce, made with mustard.
It’s all on a toasted bun topped with sesame and poppy seeds.
Early buzz is good. “Think of it as the best of a Big Mac AND a Quarter Pounder combined,” Florida NBC station WPTV posted on Facebook.
McDonald’s has several other specials going on.
