The Milan Cortina Olympics are over and the medal count is final — so who won?
The U.S. may have made history with its gold medal tally, but it still didn’t come out on top of the Games.
So who did?
Team USA finished the 2026 Olympics with 12 gold medals, 12 silver medals and nine bronze medals for a total of 33.
While the number was big for the U.S., Norway dominated the Games with 18 golds, 12 silver and 11 bronze medals, for a total of 41.
Italy came in third with its 10 gold, six silver and 14 bronze medals and German followed in fourth with eight golds, 10 silvers and eight bronze medals.
The medal count marks one of the best U.S. showings in history, breaking the golden record the country set during the 2002 Salt Lake City Winter Games, when Team USA claimed 10 golds.
