The 2nd day of the 2026 Big East Championships saw Georgetown continue its lead in the men’s teams standings, while Villanova has remained in control of the women’s meet.

Perhaps the biggest swim of the day came from Owen Watkins, a Georgetown sophomore. Watkins won the men’s 50 free in 19.21 tonight. With the performance, Watkins punched his ticket to next month’s NCAA Championships, as he won the conference title and was under the NCAA qualifying time of 19.43. The swim also marked a considerable improvement for Watkins, who entered the meet with a personal best of 19.44.

Watkins then doubled down, leading off the men’s 200 free relay in 19.17. His lead-off leg helped Georgetown secure the win. Bailey De Luise went 2nd with a 19.87, followed by Troy Keen in 20.34, and Tre Cottrell finishing it off in 19.68. Georgetown posted a final time of 1:19.06, narrowly beating Xavier, who finished 2nd in 1:19.18.

Villanova’s Katie White won the women’s 500 free in 4:50.10, after going 4:49.76 in prelims. Her swim in this morning’s prelims marked her first time under 4:50 in the event.

Villanova then took the women’s 200 IM, where Meghan Tiernan clocked a 1:59.54. Tiernan was great on the first half of the race, splitting 26.51 on fly and 30.37 on back, for a 56.88 on the opening 100.

Carlota Colomer Guasch, a Villanova junior, won the women’s 50 free in 22.63. That swim marks a new career best by about a quarter of a second, taking down her previous career mark of 22.87.

Villanova then made it a clean sweep of the evening by taking the women’s 200 free relay. Colomer (22.85), Jana Strand (22.87), Riley Kudlac (22.78), and Anna Farley (22.62) teamed up for a 1:31.12.

Seton Hall’s Jack Callan took the men’s 500 free in 4:26.25. That performance was a little off his career best of 4:24.15, which was swum back in 2023.

Balint Marosi, a Seton Hall sophomore, won the men’s 200 IM in 1:45.82.

The diving event of the day was men’s 1-meter, which Seton Hall’s Nicholas Graham won convincingly. Graham ended with a score of 348.45, winning by 23 points.
