ROCHESTER, N.Y. — The City of Rochester is set to host a fair to connect young people with employment opportunities, financial wellness tools, voter registration, and more.
The fifth annual ROC Youth Community Resource and Employment Fair is happening on Saturday, Feb. 28, at East High School. It runs from 1 to 4 p.m. It’s for ages 14 to 21 and nearly 50 community organizations will be there. People are encouraged to RSVP to the event, which you can do here.
More than 30 companies and organizations will be on-site to hire youth and adults for part-time, full-time, or seasonal positions. There will also be information for people interested in working in public safety, public service, construction, manufacturing, recreation, and more. If you’re a middle school or high school student, you can also learn about the ROC Youth Employment Network, which offers paid summer work opportunities.
The city’s Office of Financial Empowerment and Bank On Rochester will also be there to teach young people about safe, affordable banking options. You can also learn about other tools for building stability, security, and a stronger financial future.
With the help of the Monroe County Board of Elections, attendees can register to vote at the fair. You can also learn how to use a voting machine and how to become an election inspector.
