YATES COUNTY, N.Y. — An 18-year-old Keuka College student is facing charges after allegedly posting a false report on social media about a person on campus with a gun last month.
The Yates County Sheriff’s Office said deputies determined there was never a threat to the campus.
Due to the student’s eligibility for youthful offender status, officials have not released the suspect’s name. The teenager was issued an appearance ticket.
