An important alert for parents and loved ones of young children: Hobby Lobby is recalling two popular types of plush toys due to a potential choking hazard.
More than 21,000 giraffe and llama plush toys are being recalled, according to a notice from the Consumer Product Safety Commission. The agency said the toy’s legs can detach from the body, causing small beads to spill out and creating a choking hazard.
The giraffe has a yellow body with a yellow claw clip, orange and blue legs and various colored paws. It measures about nine inches long and has “HL699436 or HL731481” printed on the white sewn-in label. The toy’s hang tag has “2553675” printed in the front left corner.
The llama, meanwhile, features a white body with a green claw clip — plus an orange triangle teether and mirror attached to the body. Its legs are orange and yellow, and its paws are various colors. “HL699436” is printed on the white sewn-in label, and the hang tag has “2553634” printed in the front left corner.
One report has been received of the toy’s leg detaching from the body, releasing the small beads. No injuries have been reported.
The plushes were sold at Hobby Lobby stores and on its website from May to December 2025.
Anyone who purchased the recalled toys should go to their nearest Hobby Lobby location for a full refund.
