Susan Lucci just shared a heartbreaking post on what would have been her late husband’s birthday.
The All My Children icon, 79, found tremendous fame in the iconic soap opera role of Erica Kane on the ABC series. She played the role from 1970 to 2011, and will always be remembered for her significant place in the soap opera realm. But the star has also shared at length about the painful loss of her beloved husband of 52 years, Helmut Huber, in March 2022. In a new touching Instagram post, Lucci shared a photo of the duo sailing together.
“Happy Heavenly Birthday, my Wonderful, Handsome “10/10”❤️❤️,” Lucci captioned the shot, which showed her hand placed lovingly on her husband’s arm.

Lucci Spoke Candidly About Her Grief in Her Recent Memoir
The death of her husband was a tremendous blow to Lucci, who spoke candidly in her recent memoir, La Lucci, which was released on Feb. 3, about discovering just how significant her grief is.
“I realized that grief is not something you can really understand until you go through it — until you experience it. Until it’s your grief and you’re sitting in the front row at the funeral,” she writes in the new memoir, AARP reported. “I spent the whole month of March with Helmut, and I am forever grateful for the time I had with him every day. I felt lucky to share that time together.”
Lucci noted in a PEOPLE cover story that she “completely lost” after the loss of her husband. But despite her pain, she’s still keeping Helmut’s memory alive.
