Louisville hosted Cincinnati for senior day and earned the sweep. The Louisville won 207-81, and the men won 235-64.

Women’s Highlights

Anastasia Gorbenko has made a huge impact since her arrival competing for the Cardinals already this month, and that continued against Cincinnati as she posted a 1:43.27 in the 200 free as well as a 1:52.53 in the 200 back for the win. Both events were her first time swimming them. She now sits tied for 18th in the 200 back and 19th in the 200 free in the NCAA this season.

Also swimming to two individual wins was freshman Thilda Hall as she swept the distance events. She won the 1650 free in a 16:10.35 and the 500 free in a 4:43.51. Her 1650 free time now sits at #18 in the NCAA this season.

Senior Ella Welch won the 100 freestyle in a 48.89, her lone individual event of the day. Welch also helped the team’s 200 medley relay to a win as she swam alongside Camille Murray, Caroline Larsen, and Julie Mishler. That relay touched in a 1:36.71. Welch led off the team’s winning 200 free relay that also consisted of Julia Dennis, Karoline Barrett, and Abby Karl as they touched in a 1:27.84.

Murray swam to her own win as well, touching in a 52.21 in the 100 backstroke. Larsen won the 100 fly in a 52.92, and Dennis won the 50 free in a 21.82. Dennis most notably has a season best 21.21 in the 50 free that sits at #3 in the NCAA this season.

The Cincinnati women were led by senior Joleigh Crye who won the 100 breast in a 58.70. Crye, an NCAA All-American in the event, has been as fast as 57.99 this season which sits at #8 in the NCAA this season.

200 fly: Summer Cardwell (Louisville), 1:58.50 200 breast: Kim Emely Herkle (Louisville), 2:09.71 200 IM: Xeniya Ignatova (Louisville), 1:59.58

Men’s Highlights

Freshman Finnley Conklin swept the breaststroke events for the Louisville men. He won the 100 breast in a 53.29 and the 200 breast in a 1:55.88. He sits at t-#58 in the NCAA this season in the 100 breast with a 52.67 while his season best of a 1:54.73 is tied for 47th in the NCAA this season.

Conklin also swam on the team’s winning 200 medley relay. That relay also featured Rian Graham, Aiden Musso, and Nikita Sheremet. They touched in a 1:23.36. Sheremet won the 100 freestyle in a 42.46, only 0.43 off his lifetime best 42.03 that he swam on Friday against Indiana.

Sheremet also swam on the team’s 200 free relay that earned the win. He led off in a 19.48 and was followed by Charlie Crush, Aiden Musso, and Guy Brooks. Crush had the fastest split with a 19.07 and they touched in a final time of a 1:16.95. Brooks won the individual 50 free in a 19.70.

Jackson Millard swam to two individual wins for the Cardinals. His first win came in the 100 back as he swam a 46.78. He has been as fast as 45.94 which was a lifetime best that he swam at midseason. He also won the 200 IM in a 1:45.61, about a second and a half off his season best 1:44.08.

The Cincinnati men were led by freshman Aiden Gerst who finished 2nd in the 500 free in a 4:28.71. Louisville’s Owen Stevens earned the win in a 4:21.99.

Also a top scorer for Cincinnati was Joe Swain. Swain was 3rd in both backstroke events, touching in a 48.18 in the 100 and in a 1:46.05 in the 200.
