ROCHESTER, N.Y. — For thousands of teachers and staff at Rochester City Schools that got faulty W2 forms, the district says the new W2 forms were mailed Wednesday, and should be here by the federal deadline.

The union says it’s not aware of any member that got a W2 in the mail.
The original W2 forms were missing information regarding 401(k) contributions and health savings accounts. Some forms also had incorrect salary amounts. The union believes these issues stem from mistakes made when the district switched to a new payroll software system last summer.
Berkeley Brean: “As far as you know, have any of your members received their W2s yet?
Adam Urbanski, Rochester Teachers Association president: “None. We checked with a number of our members, teachers and others, and they have not yet received it.”
Brean: “Do you feel confident that your members will get them by the deadline and that they’ll be accurate?”
Urbanski: “I am hopeful that most teachers will receive it in the early days of next week. But I am not certain that this will go smoothly without any complications.”
Urbanski is concerned about the teachers who resigned or retired since the summer. The district says the forms are in the mail and noted that the January 31 deadline is extended to Monday, February 2, due to the weekend.
There are concerns that weather conditions might delay mail delivery, but the postal service has not reported any delays so far.
