Tri City Cycle set to roar back into business ...Saudi Arabia

LOVELAND — It hasn’t been an easy ride, but Tri City Cycle is about to rev up its engines again.

A banner headline on the store’s Facebook page, placed Saturday, trumpeted, “We’re coming back February 2026.”

Brady Welton, the former owner of the 35-year-old motorcycle dealership at 3675 Clydesdale Parkway in Loveland, successfully purchased the business and its name and acquired its stock at a Jan. 12 bankruptcy auction, according to Rachelle Bean, the store’s marketing and events manager.

“He bought it from the bank,” she said, “and the plan is to bring back the same same team, the same owner and the same shop everybody loves. The majority of employees will be coming back, and we’re hoping for a resurrection of the shop.”

Although “a few things are still in the works,” Bean said, “we’re looking at February, at the next few weeks, to reopen.”

Tri City Cycle, which filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection July 23, 2025, while Welton attempted to buy the business back from Enoch Amoah, then requested to change its filing to Chapter 7 on Sept. 10 and closed its doors in Loveland on Sept. 27. The Chapter 7 filing was approved on Oct. 8.

Tri City, a trade name for Thunder Ride Inc., sold new Yamaha motorcycles and watercraft and claimed to have “the largest selection of pre-owned motorcycles in the western United States.” The store also bought and traded vehicles, hosted riding classes run by Clutch Motorcycle School, and even included an in-house hair salon and barbershop called Gears and Shears.

Kurt Dimick opened Tri City in 1991. Brady Welton began working for Dimick in 1996, bought the business in 2002 and moved it to its current location in 2004. When Welton wanted to retire in 2004, he sold it to Amoah — but Amoah then ran into trouble with some of his investments, and the plan was for the old owner to purchase the store back.

“When Brady sold the business, he was trying to step back,” Bean said, “but when he saw the bankruptcy was happening, he wanted to make sure employees and the community were taken care of.”

A case filed under Chapter 7 in U.S. Bankruptcy Court is a liquidation process where a trustee sells a debtor’s non-exempt assets to pay creditors. A case filed under Chapter 11 is frequently referred to as a “reorganization” bankruptcy, in which the debtor usually continues to operate as a business, remains in possession of its property and assets, has the powers and duties of a trustee, and may, with court approval, borrow new money.

According to documents filed with U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Colorado, the auction, conducted by Blue Bell, Pennsylvania-based Berkshire Bank through the website of Denver-based auction house Dickensheet and Associates, included motorcycle lifts, pressure washers, a 2023 Dodge Ram 3500 truck, a boat and trailer, assorted office furniture, bar-height tables and stools, shelving units, a Ricoh copier, computers, printers, tools and tool boxes, battery chargers, shop equipment, motorcycle repair and replacement parts, tires, display fixtures, a tire machine and a Mitsubishi forklift. Also to be sold at auction were helmets, wearing apparel, gloves, shoes, oils, lubricants, boards, accessories and other inventory the dealership had made available for retail sales.

The court on Oct. 22 had granted Yamaha Motor Finance Corp. USA the right to reclaim its inventory of motorcycles and watercraft. Bean wouldn’t give details Wednesday on whether Welton had reacquired that stock or purchased new inventory, adding that negotiations are still in progress.

“We’re confident on what we’re moving forward with,” she said. “We just have to keep the wrap on it right now.”

The dealership wrote on its Facebook page that “we’ll be announcing all changes and additions soon!”

In a post on Jan 24, it wrote that “the team at Tri City Cycle would like to extend our sincere thanks to customers, friends and the local riding community for your patience, enthusiasm and continued support throughout the restructuring process. With familiar leadership, a trusted team and renewed momentum, Tri City Cycle is ready to serve this community and focus on the road ahead!”
