To the Editor:
Dear Congressman Huffman,
We wanted to take a moment to thank you for your continued support of our Alzheimer’s Association priorities.
We were thrilled to hear that Congress has announced a bipartisan agreement to provide a $100 million increase for Alzheimer’s and dementia research at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and $41.5 million for implementation of the BOLD Infrastructure for Alzheimer’s Act at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in fiscal year 2026.
When signed into law, it will bring total annual federal dementia research funding to $3.9 billion — accelerating progress against dementia for all communities nationwide. And funding for the BOLD program will strengthen our nation’s public health response to dementia.

Your support for Alzheimer’s and dementia research and public health funding is helping to drive progress toward a world without Alzheimer’s and all other dementia. We know this as results are published in our annual Research Milestone Report: alzimpact.org/Milestones-2025.
So, once again, thank you for your continued #Care4ALZ! We look forward to our continued work together in 2026 on our priorities that benefit all of our mutual constituencies.
In gratitude,
-Elizabeth Sanros, State Champion Advocate, Alzheimer’s Association , Ukiah – Mendocino County
