Adrianne Curry-Rhode made it clear that she’s not interested in revisiting her time on America’s Next Top Model.
The ANTM cycle 1 winner, 43, spoke out after the release of a captivating new trailer for an upcoming exposé docuseries taking a closer look at the hit show led by Tyra Banks, revealing she opted out of being featured on Reality Check: Inside America’s Next Top Model.
“I am deeply grateful I won the first season of top model. i think people psychoanalyzing it over 20 years later with a woke lens is absurd,” Curry wrote in a statement via X on Monday, January 26. “I don’t trust people to not manipulate things I say for tv, so i decline everything. Also, the public is cult-like and cruel, so the last thing I want is a bunch of eyeballs on me.”
Curry added, “I hope the other girls do not have their words twisted in their netflix show.” She also posted via Instagram, “I say no to all of these. I have 0 trust in any producers, no desire to be really public in this day and age …. and am hard retired from Hollywood.”
Adrianne Curry Claims She’s the Only 'ANTM' Winner Who Didn't Get Paid
The three-part series is set to “unpack the inner workings of the show” and include interviews from “key players” reflecting on their experience filming ANTM, which spanned 24 seasons from 2003 to 2018.
ANTM continues to be a controversial show, having garnered praise for opening doors in the fashion world, and its representation of contestants of different races, ethnicities and backgrounds. Despite its diversity claims, the show has also been criticized for problematic beauty standards, extreme makeovers, mental health concerns and exploitative reality TV editing.

Alexander “Miss J” and Nigel Barker and executive producer Ken Mok. Former winners Shandi Sullivan (cycle 2), Keenyah Hill (ANTM cycle 4), Dani Evans (cycle 6 winner), and Whitney Thompson (cycle 10), will also be making an appearance.
Curry, who now enjoys a quiet life in Montana with husband Matthew Rhode after leaving behind the glitz and glamour of Tinseltown, previously addressed her time on the show in 2024.
“They told us every day whoever was going to win was going to be a big Revlon model, and then they dubbed over voiceovers when it aired on TV because they never intended that,” she shared during a Zoom call with People. “They lied to us because none of us would’ve fought as hard as we did for some half-ass prize. We’d be like, that’s stupid.”

“That’s the industry. That is what it is. It is cutthroat,” Curry added, revealing it ultimately worked out in her favor to leave behind life on the catwalk.
“I’m grateful that things didn’t pan out the way they were supposed to because I don’t think I would be a very good person if I had found major success in modeling,” she shared in hindsight. “I just don’t think my young brain would’ve been able to wrap itself around that in a good way.”
Curry said life was “way slower” for her and she had embraced that change, adding, “It’s like a complete reversal of where I used to be, and I feel richer than I ever was, and I have less than I ever did.”
Reality Check: Inside America’s Next Top Model premieres on February 16.
