What’s old is new again at Super Bowl LX.
After the dust settles from the upcoming bye week, the biggest football game of the year will feature the New England Patriots and Seattle Seahawks. For the Patriots, this is their 12th Super Bowl trip — but first since the end of the Tom Brady-Bill Belichick era. As for the Seahawks, this is their fourth trip to the big game. Seattle is in search of its second Lombardi Trophy. On the other sideline, New England will be aiming to bring home its seventh title. This one should be a doozy.
Super Bowl LX Matchup: Patriots vs. Seahawks — Feb. 8, 2026
How did we get here? Well, I’m glad you asked.
It began with the Patriots topping the Broncos in a snow bowl game in Denver. This was not a game for the faint of heart. Pats quarterback Drake Maye completed just 10 of 21 passes for 86 yards. He was sacked five times and hit seven times. But when the game was on the line, Maye’s scrambling skills were a difference-maker on a key fourth-quarter possession down the stretch.
The Broncos defense played well, but the offense wasn’t clicking. Backup quarterback Jarrett Stidham was 17 of 31 for 133 yards through the air. He threw a touchdowns, but also tossed an interception. Denver’s ground game struggled, too. Rookie RJ Harvey was the team’s leading rusher (37 yards on 13 carries) despite averaging 2.8 yards per carry.
In the NFC bracket, the Seahawks edged the Rams by a 31-27 score. The game went down to the wire, but the Rams simply ran out of time. What a finish we had in this one:

— Tom Pelissero (@TomPelissero) January 26, 2026Seattle quarterback Sam Darnold was amazing, completing 25 of 36 passes for 346 yards, threw 3 touchdowns, didn’t toss an interception, and posted a 127.8 passer rating. It’s kinda funny that one year after the Rams had Darnold seeing ghosts in a playoff game when he was with the Vikings, the former Minnesota QB was able to get his revenge and send his team to the Super Bowl.
And now, we’ve got a rematch of Super Bowl XLIX on our hands. I’m looking forward to this one (even if I would rather be watching the Bears in the big game).
