Louisville managed to defeat heavy favorite Texas in the women’s team standings to close out the 2026 Eddie Reese Texas Showdown with 488 points, just ahead of Texas’s 487 and Ohio State’s 227. The defeat marks Texas’ first lost of the season, as the No. 2 ranked team in the country lost on home soil to the No. 6 ranked team.

On the men’s side, however, No. 1 ranked Texas dominated with 540 points, followed by No. 8 Louisville at 459 and No. 16 Ohio State at 159. In the combined team totals, Texas topped the leaderboard with 1,027 points, Louisville was second with 947, and Ohio State third with 386.

The session on Saturday kicked-off with the 200 backstroke, where Texas claimed the top two spots on the women’s side as Sarah Rodrigues touched first in 1:53.08, with Lillie Nesty close behind in 1:54.37. Louisville’s Xeniya Ignatova finished third in 1:55.41, while Haley McDonald (1:56.02) and Emma Kern (1:56.89) added points for the Longhorns.

In the men’s event, Texas’s Hubert Kos paced the field in 1:38.14, and teammate Rex Maurer followed in 1:40.39. Louisville’s Filip Kosinski was third in 1:41.12, with Jackson Millard (1:42.03) and Nate Thomas (1:42.66) also scoring.

The 200 yard breaststroke saw Louisville’s Anastasia Gorbenko nip the women’s race in 2:07.45. With teammates  Mia Cheatwood taking 2nd (2:09.53) and 3rd (2:09.58). On the men’s side, Texas asserted itself, with Nate Germonprez winning in 1:53.40 with teammate Will Scholtz taking 3rd in 1:55.90. Louisville’s Finnley Conklin finished 2nd overall in 1:55.77.

In the 50 freestyle, Louisville showed their sprint powers behind Julia Dennis as she won the women’s event in 21.55, while Texas’s Eva Okaro finished second at 21.75 and Louisville’s Caroline Larsen was third at 22.02. On the men’s side, Texas’s Garrett Gould touched first in 19.05, with Louisville’s Nikita Sheremet at 19.11 and Charlie Crush at 19.55.

In the 200 yard butterfly, Texas’ Campbell Stoll won the women’s race in 1:53.17, with Angie Coe second in 1:57.01 and Louisville’s Kaitlyn Sallows third in 2:00.27. The men’s race was led by Texas, with Ryan Branon taking the top time in 1:42.39 and Cooper Lucas close behind in 1:42.81, while Louisville’s Gregg Enoch placed third in 1:43.38.

Texas dominated the men’s 100 yard individual medley, sweeping the podium as Nate Germonprez touched first in 47.03, Hubert Kos second in 47.11, and Will Modglin third in 47.48. On the women’s side, Louisville’s Anastasia Gorbenko won in 52.42 for her second victory of the day, with teammate Caroline Larsen touching 2nd in 53.70 and Texas’s Angie Coe third in 54.58.

In the women’s 1650 freestyle, Texas dominated behind their strong distance squad. On the women’s side, NCAA Champion Jillian Cox led a Longhorn one-two with 15:44.61, followed by Kate Hurst in 15:56.77, while Louisville’s Leticia Fassina Romao was third in 15:56.88. In the men’s mile, Texas’s Aiden Hammer took the win in 14:49.19, with teammate Alec Enyeart second in 14:59.72 and Louisville’s Kayden Lancaster third in 15:22.86.

To close out the meet on the diving boards, it was Texas who once-again swam victory with Nicholas Harris leading the team to victory with a score of 359.33 points, well ahead of the field.
