Led by husband-and-wife team Derek Trucks (formerly of The Allman Brothers Band) and guitarist-singer Susan Tedeschi, the acclaimed band just announced a brand-new studio album, Future Soul, scheduled for release on March 20 from Fantasy Records. This will be their first new music since the four-disc set I Am the Moon, which came out in 2022.
"I Got You is a breath of fresh air and pretty different for us," the guitarist said. "It feels like the band, but it doesn’t feel like anything we’ve done before."
In addition to their previously announced residency at NYC's Beacon Theatre, the Tedeschi Truck Band revealed a massive 2026 tour scheduled to last from spring all the way into the fall, kicking off in Dallas on April 14 and wrapping up with a series of shows in Chicago towards the end of October.
Derek Trucks was inspired to form the Tedeschi Trucks Band after watching a famous concert film
As Trucks explained in a 2025 interview with USA Today, he was "ready for a change" when he approached his wife about joining forces in a band.
"And around that time, we watched the original Mad Dogs concert film," he continued, referring to Joe Cocker and Leon Russell’s 1970 Mad Dogs & Englishmen live album, which Tedeschi Trucks Band later paid tribute to with their own live recorded show.
