Carry your important items in a pocket ...Middle East

News by : (TribToday) -

DEAR HELOISE: I read a hint about what a lady did with her purse when she went shopping. I wanted to add one additional safety measure. When I go shopping, I usually carry a notebook with a pen attached that has my shopping list. I also carry my phone, which has a magnetic case and a magnetic wallet attached that carries my ID, a couple of credit cards, and $20; this all fits in a jean pocket.

If I must carry a purse, I have it in a cart in front of me. I use the child safety belts to strap in my closed purse. If someone decides that they want my purse enough to walk off with it, they won’t get too far without my noticing because they cart will be going along with them and make a racket.

I love reading your hints daily.

DEAR HELOISE: Like many others, I have enjoyed and used the hints from your column. A few years ago, while we were eating at our local sushi restaurant, my husband dripped some soy sauce on his white dress shirt. The sushi chef noticed it and told my husband to take a lemon slice and rub it on the stain. It “erased” the stain immediately. We were amazed.

DEAR HELOISE: My solution to identifying navy socks versus black socks is to always turn black socks inside out. Just remember: “Blackout!” Thanks for all your hints!

DEAR HELOISE: When removing bread slices from a bagged grocery store loaf, it’s best to leave the heels in place and only take regular slices. The heels protect the rest of the loaf from drying out.

DEAR HELOISE: To get rid of unwanted facial hair, Indian women rub their faces with a diluted paste of turmeric powder before taking a shower. There’s no need for razors or harsh chemicals.

Vittal, does turmeric stain the skin? I’ve never heard of this method of hair removal before.
