During an appearance on the January 20 episode of fellow actor Michael Rosenbaum's podcast, Inside of You, Wilson shared he's had complicated feelings about the hit 1985 film.
"Because for a while there, it's the greatest thing that ever happened to me. And as an actor, for a long period of time, it is the worst possible thing that could have happened to me as an actor, you know, for a long time," said Wilson during the interview.
"For a long time, my little snide remark was, 'Hey, I wished Eric Stoltz was Marty. Maybe the movie would have been less good. I could have had a career,'" said Wilson during the podcast interview. "But back in the day, when I was trying to get out from under its foot, right? And then I had to accept then, you know, years go by and you have to accept things, that it's not the greatest thing that happened or the worst thing that happened. It's just this gigantic thing that happened."
Following the release of Back to the Future Part III, Wilson appeared in several popular projects, like Freaks and Geeks, SpongeBob SquarePants, and Big Love, per IMDb.
