A commuter train in Barcelona has crashed after a retaining wall fell onto the tracks, killing one person and injuring at least 14 others.
Emergency services in Catalonia said three people were seriously injured. Five others were in less serious condition. Reports said the driver of the train had been killed.
The crash comes just two days after a deadly train collision in the country’s south collision killed at least 42 people and injured dozens more.
Emergency workers were still searching on Tuesday for more victims in the wreckage from Sunday’s deadly train accident, as the nation began three days of mourning.
The Barcelona commuter train crashed near the town of Gelida, located about 35 minutes outside of the city.
Other reports said at least 20 people had been injured, four of them seriously.
Spain’s railway operator ADIF said the containment wall likely collapsed due to heavy rainfall that swept across the northeastern Spanish region this week.
