Sophia Carbajal, Northridge girls basketball

Carbajal, a junior forward, had yet another monstrous double-double in the Grizzlies’ 69-27 road win against Mountain View on Thursday — just two days after they beat crosstown rival Greeley Central 58-23. She had 23 points on 9-of-16 shooting along with 15 rebounds, three steals and two assists.

Charlotte Ellerman, Weld Central girls wrestling

Ellerman, a sophomore, ran her record this season to 18-3 and won the 145-pound bracket in the Loveland Invitational on Saturday. She went 3-0, all pins, defeating Berthoud sophomore Lily Lehtinen in 3:06 in the finals.

Crew Haythorn, Eaton boys basketball

Haythorn, a junior, had a big scoring performance in the Reds’ 61-56 home win against Fort Morgan on Thursday. He scored 27 points on 8-of-17 shooting to go with four steals.

Kyla Lin Hollier, Roosevelt girls basketball

Hollier, a senior, put up a pair of jaw-dropping statlines in the Rough Riders’ 62-29 win against Severance on Jan. 13 and their 59-46 win against Berthoud on Friday. Against Severance, she had 33 points on 13-of-26 shooting to go with 11 rebounds and a steal. Against Berthoud, she went for a season-high 40 points on 15-of-35 shooting along with nine rebounds and two steals.

Hannah Kugler, Prairie girls basketball

Kugler, the Mustangs’ versatile junior, had the first triple-double of her impressive career in Prairie’s 53-44 home win against Kimball (Nebraska) on Saturday. She had 20 points on 8-of-14 shooting to go with 11 rebounds, 11 steals, five assists and two blocks.

Dayton Long, Windsor Charter boys basketball

Long, a junior, was steady and highly effective, as the Firebirds went 3-0 this past week with wins against Wray (72-37), Wiggins (67-46) and Golden Valley Classical Academy (71-45). In the three victories, he averaged 24.7 points on 54% shooting along with 3.7 rebounds, 2.7 assists, 1 block and 1.7 steals per game.

River Sawyer, University boys basketball

Sawyer, a senior, was scorching hot from the field in the Bulldogs’ 97-39 home win against Valley on Thursday. He scored a game-high 31 points on 14-of-19 shooting, including 3 of 4 from downtown. He also had six rebounds and three steals.

Addelynne Sidwell, Platte Valley girls wrestling

Sidwell (17-7), a sophomore, picked up a 105-pound title in the Loveland Invitational on Saturday. She went 3-0 with three pins. She pinned Loveland sophomore Delaney Divine in the finals in 4:46.

Courtney Steinkamp, Eaton girls basketball

Steinkamp, a junior, lit up the scoreboard in the Reds’ 73-30 home win against Fort Morgan on Thursday. She scored a career-high 41 points on 15-of-29 shooting to go with eight steals and a blocked shot.

Kya Stockham, Weld Central girls wrestling

Stockham (15-12), a junior, topped the bracket at 110 pounds in the Loveland Invitational on Saturday. She won all three of her matches, and she pinned Central (Wyoming) sophomore Mesah Smith in the finals in 3:23.

Espoir Sylvere, Greeley Central boys basketball

Sylvere, a senior guard, was the standout in the Wildcats’ 57-47 road win against Northridge on Jan. 13 and their 75-50 home win against Greeley West two days later. In the two rivalry games, he averaged 20.5 points per game, on 52% shooting, to go with 6.5 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals per game.

Abrianna Torrez, Greeley West girls wrestling

Torrez, a senior, ran her record to 22-1 on the season and won the 235-pound bracket in the Survivor Series tournament at Mountain Vista High School in Highlands Ranch on Saturday. She went 3-0 in the tournament with three pins. She pinned ThunderRidge sophomore Olivia Blum in 32 seconds in the finals.

Drake VomBaur, Severance boys wrestling

VomBaur, a junior, improved his record to 23-1 on the season and claimed the 120-pound title at the highly competitive Top of the Rockies tournament at Centaurus High School in Lafayette on Saturday. He went 5-0, including an 8-5 win over Pomona junior Logan Dellow in the finals.

Parker Wickam, Eaton boys wrestling

Like VomBaur, Wickam, a freshman, won a title at the Top of the Rockies tournament. Wickam (20-3) went 4-0 in the 132-pound bracket, defeating Hardin (Montana) junior Chris Grossman 4-2 in the finals.

Moment of the week

Just two days after splitting a pair of games against crosstown rival Northridge — with the boys winning and the girls losing — Greeley Central earned a varsity basketball sweep against another crosstown rival, Greeley West, on Thursday. The Wildcat girls defeated the Spartans 48-31, and the boys picked up a dominant 75-50 victory.
