Jessica Timmons named SEC Co-Player of the Week ...Middle East

News by : (The Crimson White) -

Alabama women’s basketball guard Jessica Timmons was named SEC Co-Player of the Week.

Her recognition comes off the heels of two solid Alabama wins this past week, one of which was a notable home upset over then-No. 6 Kentucky. On Monday, the Crimson Tide beat Missouri 74-63 on the road.

In those games, Timmons scored 24 and 16, respectively, and grabbed a combined 11 rebounds. The game against Missouri was her 14th double-digit point outing this season, a campaign in which she has led the team with 15.4 points per game.

This is the first time a Crimson Tide player has received the honor since former guard and current WNBA player Sarah Ashlee Barker won in February 2024. Timmons shared the award with Ole Miss forward Cotie McMahon, who scored 22 points on Thursday against then-No. 5 Oklahoma and 21 points in only 24 minutes against Mississippi State on Sunday.

Timmons will look to sustain her scoring output on the road against Auburn on Thursday. The game is at 8 p.m. CT on SEC Network.
