A man who is suspected of stabbing his ex-girlfriend more than 16 times earlier this month was arrested early Wednesday morning.
The charges David Anthony Rios, 48, faces for allegedly stabbing his ex-girlfriend and the location where he was arrested were not included in the Greeley Police Department news release on Wednesday.
The woman, 44, escaped to a neighbor’s house after the Jan. 4 attack, where Rios followed her before he fled, according to a Jan. 7 news release. The woman, who was found to have been stabbed at least 16 times, was taken to a hospital and was in “stable but critical condition.”
The woman’s brother also was injured when he tried to intervene in the attack, the release states.
Rios’ car was found abandoned in the 1300 block of 4th Street after the attack.
An update on the woman’s current condition was not available.
