Fitter and Faster Swim Camps is the proud sponsor of SwimSwam’s College Recruiting Channel and all commitment news. For many, swimming in college is a lifelong dream that is pursued with dedication and determination. Fitter and Faster is proud to honor these athletes and those who supported them on their journey.

Pacific Swim’s Catherine Rowe has committed to Texas Christian University for the fall of 2026, joining the Horned Frog women’s 2026 recruiting class.

I’m so excited to announce my verbal commitment to study and swim at tcu!! I first want to thank all my family and friends who have supported me throughout this journey. I also want to give a huge shoutout to my entire ps fam, especially all my coaches I’ve had throughout the years! Finally, thank you to the tcu swim and dive staff for giving me this opportunity! #gofrogs

Rowe, who hails from San Diego, Calif., recently competed at the Speedo Winter Junior Championships in Austin, where she reached one event final, finishing 21st in the 100 back (54.74). She did set a new lifetime best on the meet in the 200 back, stopping the clock in 1:59.70, good enough for 29th overall. Rowe also competes in the 100 free, where she finished 125th in 53.37.

In July, Rowe competed at Speedo Sectionals (LCM) in nearby La Jolla. She went on to win the 100 back at those Sectionals, touching in 1:03.03, marking a new lifetime best. She also finished 2nd in the 200 back in 2:18.30.

Rowe represents Mount Carmel High School in San Diego. As a junior, Rowe competed in the 100 back and 100 free at the CIF State Championships in May. She finished 4th in the 100 back, touching in 53.91, and 29th in the 100 free (52.08).

A week before those championships, Rowe had one of her best short-course outings at the CIF San Diego Section Division II Championship. Rowe won both the 100 free (51.29) and the 100 back (53.44), setting best times in both events; in the latter, she set a new CIF San Diego Section record, topping the 2009 mark of 54.55 by Nicole Parmenter, that record stood as the second-oldest girls record in the San Diego section.

The TCU women finished 4th at the 2025 Big 12 Swimming and Diving Championships.

Based on Rowe’s best times, she would have finished 8th in the 100 back, 22nd in the 200 back, and 38th in the 100 free.

Rowe’s backstroke speed is already on an elite level for the Big 12. As a junior in High School, Rowe would have been in contention for a Big 12 conference title in the 100 back.

There is still plenty of time for that time to get even faster and continue to rise within the Big 12 conference. Her 200 back is also in contention for some points, sitting in the bottom half of last season’s ‘C’ final in 22nd place.

TCU did not score a single point in the 200 back at Big 12s last season, only Iowa State failed to score in the event as well, showing that Rowe should make an immediate impact on the conference level.

Rowe still has her senior state and section championships yet to swim, meets that proved successful for her last year.

Rowe is the first publicized recruit in the Horned Frog’s 2026 recruiting class.
