Aims Community College to show short films created by veterans ...Saudi Arabia

Sport by : (GreeleyTribune) -

Aims Community College is hosting a showing Wednesday of short films created by female veterans during a workshop last year.

The showing will run from 6-9 p.m. in Ballroom A of the Aims Welcome Center, 4901 W. 20th St., Greeley.

In November, Aims partnered with the Patton Veterans Project, and several female veterans created short films as part of an “I Was There Film Workshop.”

Under the leadership of Benjamin Patton — the grandson of General George S. Patton — The Patton Veterans Project uses collaborative filmmaking as a therapeutic filmmaking tool for veterans. It aims to reduce social isolation and strengthen family and community bonds through community screenings, breaking down barriers between veterans and civilians and educating the public about mental health challenges facing veterans and military families.

The screening is free and a meet-and-greet reception with the filmmakers will follow. Doors open at 5:30. Registration is available at Events.Aims.Edu.
