As part of the new national deals, Major League Baseball moved its longstanding Sunday Night Baseball package from ESPN to NBC/Peacock. Pairing together with the already-existing Sunday Leadoff Game, NBC/Peacock basically now own Sundays as far as baseball is concerned.
The league and NBC have announced both schedules for the 2026 season, which I’ve included below.
Of note, the Chicago Cubs show up just three times on either of the schedules, and all three are Sunday Night Baseball games … though one of those three is actually an afternoon game, as part of a double-dip. And also, the other two games come back-to-back weeks May 31 and June 7, so it’s actually an extraordinarily limited set of Cubs games on NBC/Peacock this year. The exposure is always nice, but candidly, sometimes the Cubs being on national broadcasts is kind of annoying.
All that said, all three of the Cubs’ games will be on NBC, proper, so even folks without Peacock will be able to watch, assuming they have rabbit ears for their TV.
