CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – The North Carolina swimming and diving program swept Boston College and UNCW in double-dual meets at Koury Natatorium on Friday. The women topped the Eagles 222-66 and the Seahawks 209.50-84.50, while claiming all but one event. The men bettered BC 219-77 and blew past UNCW 232-66, winning every event on the program.
Diver Sofia Knight claimed her first victories on the springboard, claiming the 1-meter and 3-meter, while moving into the Top 10 at UNC in both. Her score of 306.70 on the 1-meter ranks ninth all-time at UNC, while her 331.25 on 3-meter in now No. 10. The women hit three NCAA standards and tallied two PRs on the day. Emma Karam went under the mark in the 100 back with a 52.06, while Mary Macaulay (1:56.36) and Taylor Bloom (1:56.72) did so in the 200 butterfly. Chloe Stinson equaled her personal best in the 50 free at 23.02 to claim victory, while Michaela Chokureva set a new mark of 49.29 to win the 100 free.
Ben Delmar led the way for the men with a victory in the 200 IM. He clocked a time of 1:44.85 to win the event. Sean Setzer claimed victories in the 50 free (19.66) and 100 free (44.04), while Nate Hohm won his first dual-meet event with a 47.49 in the 100 fly. Carter Loftin claimed victory on the 1-meter and Rodolfo Vazquez Montano took the 3-meter.
The Heels will be back in action on Friday, Jan. 16 for a dual meet with NC State at Koury. The meet will start at 4 p.m. with diving and swimming will begin at 5 p.m. Admission is free.

Chapel Hill, N.C. – Boston College Swim and Dive kicked off the second half of their season in North Carolina today when they took on ACC opponent UNC as well as UNC Wilmington. Sirui Wang and Veronika Kisova were the Eagles’ top finishers in the afternoon, each placing fourth in the 200 breaststroke and 1000 freestyle, respectively. Lauren Lee, Matt Cinque, and Savannah Branon all recorded two top-five finishes each. Altogether, BC earned 10 top-five individual finishes across the 28 contested events while earning three relay top-five finishes. Full results can be found here. Up next: Boston College will return to the pool next Saturday, making the short trip to Harvard to compete against the Crimson and the University of Pennsylvania.

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – In its first outing of the spring semester, UNCW split a pair of dual meets, including a sweep of Boston College, on Friday at the Khoury Center.

UNCW’s Cameron Snowden won the 100 Butterfly with a time of 53.55 seconds.
In diving, Vivian Fougeron finished second on the women’s 1-meter board and Isabella Wilhelm also placed second on the 3-meter.
UNCW visits NC State on Jan. 30 for its final tuneup for the Coastal Athletic Association Championships next month in Hampton, Va.
