Since suffering a near-fatal stroke in 2013 that severely affected his speech and singing ability, Travis has steadily returned to the spotlight with the support of his wife Mary and years of intensive therapy. While he no longer performs full songs vocally, Travis appears onstage throughout the show, interacting with the band and audience, celebrating the music that defined his career. Dupré, selected personally by Travis after seeing him perform on The Voice, handles lead vocals and faithfully delivers the songs that fans know by heart.

Fans Call the Experience 'Inspirational'
“We saw you in Maine a few weeks ago for your last show of 2025, and it was phenomenal!” one fan wrote. “My 6th RT show. James is a gem! … Even though he does not sing, his presence and happiness was worth it itself.”
Others echoed similar sentiments, with one fan writing, “It’s an inspiration to see Randy,” while another added, “Such an amazing show. Got to meet him. Randy is such a genuine person.”
During a 25-year recording career, Travis became widely known as “the epitome of what country music should sound like,” as Taste of Country once put it. With more than 25 million records sold, he has earned seven Grammy Awards, 11 Academy of Country Music Awards, 10 American Music Awards, eight Dove Awards, and multiple Country Music Association honors.
