Transfer portal season is in full effect across the college football landscape, and the Alabama Crimson Tide has already seen a number of pieces from its 2025 squad depart for new homes over the past week.
The cut-throat nature of the SEC means that some of the Tide’s biggest rivals on the gridiron have poached several of these players, and it looks like another name has been added to that list.
According to reports from On3’s Pete Nakos and Hayes Fawcett, former Crimson Tide wide receiver Cole Adams committed to Clark Lea and the Vanderbilt Commodores on Friday evening.

— Transfer Portal (@TransferPortal) January 9, 2026A 3-star recruit in the 2023 cycle, Adams was a late addition to the Tide’s 2023 recruiting class and saw minimal playing time over his first 2 seasons with the program as both a pass catcher and kick returner.
Adams saw his role increase with the Tide in 2025, playing in all 15 games as a return man and wideout. He racked up 176 yards in the return game and added a further 71 yards as a pass catcher while also hauling in his only touchdown with the team.
Now it looks like he’ll be taking his talents up to Nashville in hopes of carving out a bigger role for himself in the Commodores’ high-flying offense over his final 2 years of college eligibility.
