ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Our Threat Tracker now has a Red Alert for Friday afternoon for a round of strong damaging wind gusts. Lots of new data coming in this morning now supporting winds 55-65 mph reaching metro Rochester, the Westside, Orleans, Genesee and Wyoming Counties after 3-4PM and lasting an hour or two before diminishing this evening after 7PM. The rest of the region will see gusts to 50mph for parts of Wayne, Livingston, Ontario and Yates Counties with less of an impact but still a few issues possible. Be prepared for some tree damage and possible power outages Friday afternoon into the early evening.
