BRIGHTON, N.Y. — An open house meeting is set for Tuesday, Jan. 20, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Empire State University in Rochester by the New York State Department of Transportation (NYSDOT) to propose a paving project in Brighton.

The project’s purpose is to resurface State Route 31 from the Rochester city line to Interstate 590. Other improvements include intersection realignments, traffic signal replacements, lane reconfigurations, drainage repairs, and curb repairs, among other repairs.

For example, the project looks to remove traffic signals at the intersection of Route 31, Warrington Drive, and Sylvan Road.

The paving project is scheduled to begin in the fall of 2027 and end by the winter of 2029.

NYSDOT representatives will be at the in-person meeting.
