Former Alabama DL Hunter Osborne will mark his return to the SEC in 2026 after spending 2025 with Virginia.
Osborne has committed to Arkansas, he told On3’s Hayes Fawcett on Tuesday. Osborne, who will have two years of eligibility remaining, marks the twelfth transfer commitment of the cycle for new Razorbacks head coach Ryan Silverfield.
A member of Nick Saban’s 2023 recruiting class at Alabama, Osborne was ranked the No. 19 defensive lineman in the country by 247Sports’ Composite Ratings. After redshirting in 2023, he remained with the Crimson Tide in 2024, Kalen DeBoer‘s first season, and played in four games.
He then entered the transfer portal and landed at Virginia. As a member of the Cavaliers, he appeared in every game while totaling 2.0 tackles for a loss and 1.0 sacks.
Following the 2025 season, Osborne entered the transfer portal for a second time. Now, he’s made his way back to the SEC as a member of the Razorbacks.
Silverfield is looking to turn the Razorbacks around as he takes the reins after six seasons at Memphis, including 10 wins in 2023 and 11 wins in 2024. Arkansas is coming off a 2-10 season in 2025 and failed to win a game in the SEC.
