Now, the woman faces a felony assault charge on top of a misdemeanor theft count, court records show.

The incident occurred Dec. 17 at a Walmart in Fremont, according to court records. Police located the suspect at her Newark apartment the following day and brought the security guard so that he could identify her.

Judge Kevin Wong released the woman at her Dec. 19 court appearance but ordered her to stay away from the alleged victim and “all Walmart stores,” court records show. She is next due in court on Jan. 22.
