Wideout Rico Scott, who was a highly sought after recruit for Alabama and spent 2 years in the program, is entering the transfer portal. Scott’s decision to leave Tuscaloosa and enter the portal, which officially opened on Friday, was first reported by On3’s Hayes Fawcett on Sunday afternoon.
While Scott only caught 11 passes for 98 yards and 2 touchdowns during the 2025 season, his departure still hurts an Alabama program that is searching for more weapons to bolster its offensive attack in 2026.

He played in only 4 games during that true freshman season that ultimately ended up being a redshirt for Scott. One of Scott’s biggest attributes that will now be on the transfer portal market is his speed. During the early days of fall camp in 2025, Scott was said by fellow wideout Germie Bernard to have gotten up to 23.5 miles per hour.
It’s that speed and possible uptick in production that programs will be chasing after with Scott hitting the portal.
Scott’s departure continues the massive hit that Alabama has taken at the position, with Jaylen Mbakwe, Jalen Hale and Cole Adams also leaving Tuscaloosa and heading elsewhere for the 2026 season.
