ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Disney on Ice is back in Rochester. The show kicked off on New Year’s Day at the Blue Cross Arena and continues on Friday and the weekend.
News10NBC’s Kristi Blake was live with a behind-the-scenes look at how characters are preparing to take the ice. Skaters will portray scenes from the Disney films “Frozen” and “Encanto”. Natalie Catalano, a skater who’s been with Disney on Ice for four seasons, said her favorite number comes from “Encanto”. She portrays the character Luisa, the strong sister of the family, and showed News10NBC how she spins around a giant globe. Catalano said it takes a lot of practice to be able to stake with large props.
“It takes a little bit of time, but when you really love your job and what you do, you put the time in,” she said.
