The National Weather Service has issued a Dense Fog Advisory for the entire San Joaquin Valley until 11 AM this morning.

Visibility is one quarter mile or less in the dense fog.

Low visibility could make driving conditions hazardous.

If driving in fog, slow down, use your low-beam headlights, and leave plenty of distance ahead of you.

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Watch for the western slope of the northern Sierra Nevada, from Friday afternoon through Sunday morning.

Heavy snow is forecast.

The snow accumulations will remain above the pass levels through Friday afternoon, then drop down to 5,500 to 6,500 feet from late Friday night into Saturday.

Total accumulations are uncertain at this time, but may range from one to three feet above the 5,500 foot elevation.

The winds could gust as high as forty-five mph. This could result in low visibility, due to the combination of wind and heavy snow.

Dangerous travel conditions with chain controls and road closures are likely.
