Ellery Chandler, who represents East Grand Rapids Aquatics in Michigan, has added another commitment to the Arkansas Razorbacks’ Class of 2026.

Chandler is the three-time defending Michigan High School Athletic Association (MHSAA) 3A State Champion in the 100-yard breast and two-time defending champ in the 100 fly, and has a trio of other top-16 finishes (third in the 100 breast as a freshman, 12th in the 200 IM as a freshman, and fifth in the 50 free as a sophomore) to go with them. Her East Grand Rapids High School team dominated November’s state championship meet, winning by 145 points; the team has won each year of Chandler’s career.
Her best times in the 100 breast (1:01.60) and 100 fly (54.11) were both set at the 2025 state meet. Beyond those two events, she also specializes in the 200 breast (2:18.57) and 200 IM (2:05.22) outside of the high school season. She has improved each year of her career, and over the past 12 months, has lowered her 100 fly and 200 IM times by nearly two seconds, her 100 breast time by 1.5 seconds, and dropped 0.12 seconds in the 200 breast.
A three-time Junior Nationals qualifier, Chandler has competed at the meet in both short course and long course formats. In December 2024, she finished 51st in the 100 breast, 78th in the 200 breast, and 84th in the 100 fly at the Winter Junior Championships. Over the summer at long course Junior Nationals, she finished 22nd in the 50m breast, 30th in the 50m fly, and 71st in the 100m breast. She didn’t compete at this month’s Winter Juniors, instead taking a break following her final state meet.
At the 2025 SEC meet, times of 1:01.00/2:12.89 were needed to score in the breaststrokes, while 52.92 and 1:59.04 were the cutoffs in the 100 fly and 200 IM. Based on those standards, she is just six-tenths shy in the 100 breast and a little over a second off in the 100 fly.
Beyond the conference level, Chandler will be a key contributor for the Razorbacks in dual meets. On the team’s 2024-25 depth charts, she would have ranked second in the 100 breast, third in the 100 fly and 200 IM, and fourth in the 200 breast.
While most of those above her are graduating, she will overlap a year with Harriet Rogers, who owns a 52.45 lifetime best in the 100 fly. Additionally, the team is reloading with breaststrokers, highlighted by World Junior Champion Rachel McAlpin (1:01.19/2:17.10), who was featured in the “Best of the Rest” Section in SwimSwam’s rankings of the top 20 girls in the 2026 recruiting class, as well as Evelyn Jezerinac (1:01.39/2:16.58).
Joining Chandler, McAlpin, and Jezerinac in the class of 2031 are sisters Hayden Gibson (back/free) and Riley Gibson (IM/free).
