Auburn receiver Cam Coleman has decided to enter the transfer portal, according to a report.
Coleman, who arrived at Auburn as a 5-star prospect in the class of 2024, will play the 2026 season elsewhere. That’s according to On3’s Hayes Fawcett, who first shared the news on Monday.

— Hayes Fawcett (@Hayesfawcett3) December 29, 2025Coleman is arguably the top overall player to announce plans to enter the transfer portal this offseason. An elite wide receiver prospect, Coleman has accounted for over 1,300 yards in 2 seasons at Auburn despite consistently-shaky quarterback play on the Plains.
According to Pro Football Focus, Coleman caught 57 of his 88 targets this season. His average depth of target was 13.4 yards, which was third among SEC receivers with at least 75 yargets.
This is a big blow for Auburn, which was hoping to have a quick turnaround under new head coach Alex Golesh in 2026. That will be much tougher to accomplish without Coleman as a top offensive weapon.
Auburn does still have a strong wide receiver corps led by Eric Singleton Jr. and Malcolm Simmons. Of course, it’s possible one or both of those playmakers will also decide to enter the portal when it officially opens on Jan. 2.
