Ben Johnson is a fascinating person to listen to when it comes to talking football.
Even as the flu bug attacks, the Chicago Bears are riding high entering their Week 17 matchup against the San Francisco 49ers. They officially clinched a playoff spot last week. What I’ve been blown away with is his competitive drive. This guy loves football. He wants to be great. He’s going to stop at nothing but to be great. And I think that’s a great starting point for any competitor in this league. Because he is wired that way, he’s opened himself up to coaching. We meet on a daily basis to go over practice tape, game tape, what are we trying to get done that week, how can we get better, and he’s being critical of himself. He knows he is only scratching the surface of what he is capable of right now.
