Aleppo ,Dec. 28 (SANA) The “Aleppo Nights” heritage festival kicked off on Sunday evening at the historic Khan al-Shouna, adjacent to Aleppo Citadel, under the patronage of Aleppo Governorate.

The event aims to revive Aleppine traditions and restore vibrancy to the heart of the old city.

Munir Al-Qasqas, Director of Antiquities and Museums in Aleppo, told SANA’s correspondent that Khan al-Shouna was chosen for its rich collection of traditional crafts for which the city is renowned.

He noted that the festival seeks to revive these crafts after a fourteen-year hiatus, breathing new life into archaeological sites and historic markets damaged by the former regime.

Several local entities and companies joined to support the revival of activity in the khan. Majd Al-Mohammad, representative of al-Khayrat Trading Company, explained that his company’s participation aims to bolster economic life by offering household products at competitive prices, expressing his delight at the strong turnout on the opening day.

The festival will continue until the 17th of next month, featuring a rich programme of marketing and family activities, daily prizes, and artistic evenings, creating both economic and cultural vibrancy in the venue.

The “Aleppo Nights” Festival represents a practical step toward restoring the cultural and economic role of the city’s historic sites, transforming them from mere sorrowful memories into vibrant spaces that tell the story of Aleppo’s resilience and its people’s determination to endure.
