Thousands of Colorado homes and businesses remained without power Sunday morning after two severe windstorms the week before caused widespread outages.
As of 10:30 a.m. Sunday, power outages were affecting 16,164 Xcel Energy customers as crews made “a final push to get the lights back on,” the utility said.

The remaining outages included roughly 7,300 customers in Boulder County and 2,000 customers in Jefferson County, according to Xcel’s outage map. Xcel outages were still impacting dozens of customers across Adams, Clay, Clear Creek, Denver, Gilpin, Lake, Summit and Weld counties, the map showed.
Xcel officials estimated that power had been restored to more than 60% of its affected customers by 5 p.m. Saturday.
“Multi-day outages are difficult, and we appreciate your patience and understanding as our crews work to restore power to all impacted customers,” Xcel officials stated.
Another 2,700 CORE Electric customers were also without power Sunday morning, largely in Clear Creek and Jefferson counties, according to the utility.
“Our crews will continue to follow their plan to address the highest-priority outages, which include Floyd Hill and Bergen Park,” CORE officials said Sunday morning. “We expect to have many of the 3,000-plus affected members back on by Sunday evening.”
