SAN BRUNO, Calif. – The Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches announced its 2025 Men’s Water Polo Division I All-America Teams on Friday, with the West Coast Conference boasting 19 honorees between the three teams and honorable mention honors. Each of the three teams consisted of seven position players and one goalie.
All seven West Coast Conference programs garnered ACWPC recognition. San José State collected the most honorees with five Spartans earning accolades. Pacific and Pepperdine each picked up three selections, and Air Force, Santa Clara, California Baptist and LMU each earned two honorees.
The lone first-team recipient was West Coast Conference Men’s Water Polo Player of the Year and West Coast Conference Tournament Most Outstanding Player Brendon Gyapjas of San José State. Gypajas, a junior from Hungary, collected a conference-leading 41 saves in the 2025 West Coast Conference Men’s Water Polo Tournament en route to San José State winning the tournament crown and earning the automatic qualification into the NCAA Tournament.
Earning second-team honors was San José State’s Samu Biros and Tom Leggett of Air Force. Leggett, for the third straight year, led the league in goals, breaking his previous conference record with 148 goals this season. Biros earned all-tournament honors at the West Coast Conference Men’s Water Polo Tournament after scoring 10 goals and a conference-leading four field blocks at the tournament.
Four West Coast Conference student-athletes found themselves on the ACWPC All-America Third Team with Riccardo De Simon (Santa Clara), Apostolos Georgaras (Pacific), Erik Ionescu (Pepperdine) and Andrea Nuzzo (California Baptist) earning the recognition.
